Responsibilities:

  • Team Leadership and Oversight: Oversee two cross-functional product teams, including full-stack, ML, and DevOps engineers, while working closely with Product Managers to ensure alignment between technical and business objectives.
  • Technical Strategy and Roadmap: Collaborate with the CTO and Product Managers to define and execute a forward-looking technical strategy and roadmap that aligns with our mission and growth goals.
  • Performance Management and Development: Establish and implement effective, data-driven performance evaluation processes, setting clear objectives and measurable goals for team members. Motivate and guide them to reach their full potential.
  • Problem-Solving and Technical Excellence: Provide hands-on technical leadership in key projects, especially in frontend development, while leveraging your knowledge in backend systems and ML to solve complex engineering challenges.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Coordinate closely with Product Managers to translate strategic goals into technical execution, balancing feature delivery with stability and scalability.
  • Engineering Standards and Best Practices: Implement and oversee best practices in software development, including architecture design, code reviews, quality assurance, and performance optimizations.

Requirements

  • Leadership Experience: At least 7 years of hands-on engineering experience, with a minimum of 5 years in leadership roles. Proven success in leading and scaling cross-functional engineering teams in dynamic, fast-paced environments.
  • Technical Skills: Deep expertise in modern frontend technologies (e.g., React, JavaScript, TypeScript) and solid experience working with backend systems (e.g., Node.js, Python) and ML concepts.
  • Talent Development: Demonstrated ability to hire, coach, and develop top-tier engineering talent. Skilled at motivating teams and managing performance through clear metrics and feedback.
  • Complex Problem-Solving: Proven track record of solving complex technical challenges and making strategic decisions to drive business success.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Experience working closely with Product Managers to align technical initiatives with business objectives and ensure smooth collaboration.

  • Background in Mental Health Tech: Previous experience working in or developing products for the mental health or healthcare industry.
  • Experience with Infrastructure and DevOps: Understanding of cloud infrastructure (e.g., AWS) and DevOps best practices for building scalable systems.
