How to Create your own Templates for Intake and Progress notes

Notes & Transcripts2023-09-03

Mentalyc's template builder is a powerful tool that allows therapists to create customized progress and intake note templates. In this guide, we'll walk you through the steps to make the most of this innovative feature for efficient and personalized documentation. Step 1: Access the Template Builder Click "Templates" in the navigation

Click on "Create new template"

Step 2: Configure your new template Select the type of note you'd like for this template

Select the template format

Select the client type

Enter a name for your template Tip: Make the name of the template as descriptive as possible so you can easily find it in the template list. For instance: "Progress SOAP Individual"

Step 3: Configure Select which sections to include or exclude based on the user's requirements, such as Presenting Problems, Psychological Factors, Biological Factors, or sections specific to EMDR therapy. Browse for the items to be added to your template

Click on the items you'd like the AI to include in your new template

You can also use the search functionality to find the items for your template

Tip: We advice that you add only items that important for your template, so the AI can pick up more precisely what you'd like to be in your documentation. You won't be able to exceed 50 items, and you won't be able to remove mandatory elements (eg. Chief complaint)

Once your happy with your template, click "Save

You can now find your template in the template list and is now available to use for the type of session and client you selected

That's it! You're all set to start using your newly created template.
